«Greguerías» is Ramón Gómez de la Serna's book of greguerías, published by Cátedra in paperback (296 pages, in Spanish).
It brings together a selection of the greguerías that Ramón Gómez de la Serna published in the press from 1910 onwards: very brief texts that condense a witty observation into a formula of metaphor and humor. The volume closes with a historical appendix that arranges the pieces chronologically to show the author's aesthetic evolution.
Volume 108 of Cátedra's Letras Hispánicas collection; 13th edition, published in 2006, edited by Rodolfo Cardona.
For readers of twentieth-century Spanish literature and fans of brief humor.
Ramón Gómez de la Serna y Puig, born in Madrid, was a Spanish writer, dramatist and avant-garde agitator. He strongly influenced surrealist film maker Luis Buñuel.
