«Heraus mit der Sprache» is the essay by Hans Magnus Enzensberger, writing as Andreas Thalmayr, published by Hanser in hardcover (191 pages, in German).
The book is an ironic stroll through the German language via its dialects, syntax and even its curses, with examples for natives and foreigners. A playful and erudite celebration of the language's mysteries, inviting readers to enjoy its quirks rather than correct them.
Published in 2005, its subtitle is «Ein bisschen Deutsch für Deutsche, Österreicher, Schweizer und andere Aus- und Inländer»; includes bibliographical references (pp. 183-192).
Recommended for German speakers, German learners and curious readers who enjoy humor and reflection on language.
