«I pensieri di Lektro» is the illustrated novel by Reiner Zimnik, published by Salani in hardcover (256 pages, in Italian).
Lektro is an ordinary man in uniform and nickel glasses who works as a street sweeper, fireman or zoo keeper. Beneath his insignificant appearance he harbors a fragment of humanity that lets him see beauty where others see only routine: he talks with an old friend turned into a carp, recognizes the gentle inhabitants of Jupiter, sends a camel by mail and ends up becoming a beautiful thought himself. A tender and ironic fable about the magic hidden in everyday life.
It belongs to the Gl'istrici series (The Porcupines), in which it is number 40. Translation by Vincenzo Loriga. Illustrated in black and white by Zimnik himself.
For readers who enjoy illustrated, surreal and poetic stories, close to the world of fable and everyday fantasy.
