«La bicicleta estàtica» is a short story collection by Sergi Pàmies, published by Quaderns Crema in paperback (144 pages, in Catalan).
Twenty stories about the shipwrecks of maturity, individual and collective fatalities, the capacity to overcome them, and the emotions they provoke. Pàmies uses autobiographical material for the first time to build fictions and portrays characters who, with absurd and heroic determination, insist on pedaling without moving from the spot.
This third edition belongs to the Mínima Minor collection (no. 101) and won the Premi de Narrativa Maria Àngels Anglada 2011.
For readers of short stories and contemporary Catalan literature, as well as for those who follow the work of Sergi Pàmies.
