«L'art de portar gavardina» is a collection of short stories by Sergi Pàmies, published by Quaderns Crema in paperback (152 pages, in Catalan).
The book brings together thirteen stories that move from childhood to the parents' old age, with romantic disillusionment and the fear of disappointing one's children as central themes. Irony, melancholy and a fascination with the absurd define a refined, observant style.
It is part of the Mínima Minor collection (no. 106). It received the Premi de la Crítica de Narrativa Catalana and the Premi Crítica Serra d'Or de Contes i Narracions in 2019.
Recommended for readers of contemporary fiction and short narrative who appreciate a personal literary style.
