«La coscienza di Zeno» is the Italian novel by Italo Svevo, published by Opportunity Books in paperback (424 pages, in Italian).
Zeno Cosini, on the advice of his psychoanalyst, Dr S., writes memoirs that the doctor publishes after abandoning the therapy. In them he presents himself as an imaginary invalid or «inetto» and recounts his often absurd attempts to find relief. Irony and introspection run through this critique of Italian society of the time.
Work originally published in 1923. It is the first installment of Italo Svevo's Zeno series. This paperback edition dates from 1995 and belongs to the Nuovi giganti collection.
