«La gran revancha» is the historical essay by Carlos Dávila and Isabel Durán, published by Ediciones Martínez Roca in paperback (300 pages, in Spanish).
The book investigates the lives of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero's two grandfathers to argue that, like many Spaniards, he had one grandfather on each side of the Civil War. The findings about the rebel grandfather are novel, since Zapatero barely mentions them; the account questions his version of historical memory.
This work is number 1 in the Artículo 20 collection; it was published in 2006 and includes a prologue by Stanley G. Payne.
For readers interested in Spanish political history, the Civil War, and the debate over historical memory.
