«La grande panthère noire» is the children's story by Paul François and Lucile Butel, published by Père Castor in paperback (24 pages, in French).
A big black panther has eaten a pig, a cow and a rabbit, and the villagers go out to look for it. The chase begins around a forest, continues north and ends up crossing borders: the story plays with the question of how far they will go.
