«La veritable història dels bonobos amb ulleres» is the children's story by Adela Turin, published by Lumen in hardcover (40 pages).
A group of bonobos lives in the mangrove forest: while the females care for the young and gather food, the males eat and chat without bothering about anything. Bored with the routine, they decide to learn a few words of English and put on airs of importance with sunglasses and a briefcase. Tired of that life, the females leave with the little ones in search of a more pleasant life, and they will have to reflect.
Originally published in Italian in 1976 under the title «La vera storia dei bonobo con gli occhiali»; this edition includes the translation by Albert Balasch.
