«La vida del Buscón» is the picaresque novel by Francisco de Quevedo, published by Planeta in paperback (177 pages, in Spanish).
Don Pablos, son of a thieving barber, decides to leave home to study and serve as a servant to young Diego. Hunger and roguery drag him through various cities, where deceptions, mockeries, and punishments follow one another. With his satirical gaze, Quevedo turns these misadventures into a ruthless portrait of Spanish society in the Golden Age.
