«Las puertas de la tarde: Envejecer con esplendor» is the essay by Dolores Aleixandre, published by Sal terrae in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
The author asks whether the Gospel also allows us to speak of an «old age in abundance». Against the discourse that reduces old age to decline, she invites us to live it with faith, hope and love. In dialogue with biblical and contemporary believers, she proposes a countercultural attitude that discovers in this stage an unexpected fullness: aging with splendor.
Work number 217 in the El Pozo de Siquén collection, originally published in 2007.
Intended for older people, pastoral workers and readers of Christian spirituality seeking a hopeful view of old age.
