«Le mystère de Lucy Lost» is the historical novel for young readers by Michael Morpurgo, published by Gallimard Jeunesse in paperback (400 pages, in French).
May 1915: Alfie and his father, a fisherman, find on the Isles of Scilly a wounded girl with no memory who only says «Lucy». During World War I, the islanders suspect her, but the music of a gramophone brings back flashes of her past. The story crosses with that of Merry, a girl crossing the ocean on a great ship.
The original work is from 2014; this French edition, published in 2018, is a translation by Diane Ménard. It was nominated for the Costa Book Award as a children's book.
Aimed at young readers and fans of historical and adventure narrative set during World War I.

Sir Michael Andrew Bridge Morpurgo is an English book author, poet, playwright, and librettist who is known best for children's novels such as War Horse (1982). His work is noted for its "magical storytelling", for recurring themes such as the triumph of an outsider or survival, for characters' relationships with nature, and for vivid settings such as the Cornish coast or the trenches of the First World War. Morpurgo was the third Children's Laureate, from 2003 to 2005, and is President of BookTrust, a children's reading charity.
