«Llamadas telefónicas» is Roberto Bolaño's short story collection, published by Editorial Anagrama in paperback (208 pages, in Spanish).
Open, unpredictable stories where the visible hides an enigma. Bolaño portrays an old exiled writer, a former adult-film actress, a talentless writer possessed by literature, and a man caught up in crimes; in his stories reality and fiction imitate each other, with echoes of other writers and movies.
Part of Anagrama's Compactos collection (number 282). It won the Santiago Municipal Literature Prize in 1998.
Aimed at an adult audience, readers of contemporary fiction and short stories in Spanish.

Roberto Bolaño Ávalos was a Chilean novelist, short-story writer, poet and essayist. In 1999, Bolaño won the Rómulo Gallegos Prize for his novel The Savage Detectives, and in 2008 he was posthumously awarded the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction for his novel 2666, which was described by board member Marcela Valdes as a "work so rich and dazzling that it will surely draw readers and scholars for ages".
