«Los diez mandamientos en el siglo XXI» is the philosophical essay by Fernando Savater, published by Debate in hardcover (192 pages, in Spanish).
Fernando Savater examines the Ten Commandments one by one and asks whether they remain an ethical and moral guide in the 21st century. With irony, he reviews the historical explanation, the prohibition on stealing, the duty to honor one's parents and other precepts. It includes opinions from a rabbi and a Catholic priest, and comes from a television series.
The subtitle is «Tradición y actualidad del legado de Moisés». The work belongs to the Referencias collection from Debate.
Reading for those interested in philosophy, ethics and religion seeking a critical review of a traditional moral code.
