«Mausoleo» is the poetic work by Hans Magnus Enzensberger with 37 ballads on the history of progress, published by Anagrama in paperback (126 pp.).
Thirty-seven ballads portray as many historical figures —inventors, scientists, revolutionaries, artists and thinkers— associated with progress. Enzensberger combines the epic and the dramatic to show their achievements and also the contradictions and unsettling effects of modernity.
The first Spanish-language edition dates from 1979, in Anagrama's Serie Informal collection (no. 31). The German original was published in 1975.
For readers of poetry, critiques of modernity and history of ideas; also for anyone wanting to discover Enzensberger.
