«¡Me lo llevo!» is the essay by Thomas Hine, published by Lumen Editorial in paperback (288 pages, in Spanish).
Thomas Hine traces a cultural history of shopping, from the earliest merchants to today's commercial dominance, and shows how the act of buying has accompanied humanity for centuries. The journey includes the rise of shopping arcades in the nineteenth century and reaches the consumerism of our days, explaining why shopping is more than a necessity.
The work originally appeared in English as «I Want That!: How We All Became Shoppers»; this Spanish edition includes a prologue by Elvira Lindo and a translation by Bettina Blanch Tyroller.
A work for readers interested in the history of consumption, shopper behavior and the evolution of commerce.
