It narrates the stage of the Reconquista between the 10th and early 13th centuries, when Castile, Navarre, Aragon and Portugal expand against the power of Al-Andalus. Esparza mixes history and legend with real characters such as Abderramán, Almanzor, El Cid or Queen Urraca, and ends at the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa (1212).
Second volume of the La Reconquista series, continuation of La gran aventura del Reino de Asturias; it was published in 2011.
