«Na fogueira dos versos» is the poetry collection by Antonio García Teijeiro, published by Xerais de Galicia in paperback in 1996, with 70 pages.
The book brings together 29 poems in which García Teijeiro draws on verses by a wide range of Galician poets (Rosalía de Castro, Curros Enríquez, Celso Emilio Ferreiro, Cunqueiro, Novoneyra) and recreates them in his own voice. The result is a poetic dialogue where spontaneity and reflection, culture and sensitivity coexist.
The collection won the Premio Merlín in 1996, unanimously, from a jury of readers, and belongs to the Merlín collection from Xerais.
Recommended for readers interested in poetry and children's and young adult literature of the Galician tradition.
