«O Menino Nicolau e Os Amigos» is the book by René Goscinny and Jean-Jacques Sempé, published by Editorial Teorema in paperback (127 pages, in Portuguese).
The book brings together the adventures of Nicolau and his gang of schoolmates: Clotaire, Maixent, Geoffroy, Alceste and the others. Amid quips, misunderstandings and everyday mischief, the children turn the ordinary into comic situations, with the complicity of Sempé's drawings.
Fourth installment of the «Le Petit Nicolas» series; originally published in 1963 as «Le Petit Nicolas et les copains».
Recommended for young readers and for classroom reading: accessible humor, school-age protagonists and short stories.

René Goscinny was a French comic editor and writer, who created the Asterix comic book series with illustrator Albert Uderzo. Born in France to a Jewish family from Poland, he spent his childhood in Argentina where he attended French schools and later lived in the United States for a short period of time. There he met Belgian cartoonist Morris. After his return to France, they collaborated for more than 20 years on the comic series Lucky Luke.
