«Prosperity without Growth» is Tim Jackson's economic essay, published by Routledge in paperback (350 pages, in English).
Tim Jackson questions whether economic growth is the solution to global problems: in advanced economies, consuming more does not increase happiness and ecosystems are degraded. He proposes redefining prosperity and organizing the economy to thrive within the limits of the planet, without relying on continuous growth.
This second edition includes the subtitle «Foundations for the Economy of Tomorrow» and a foreword by Charles, Prince of Wales.
A work for readers interested in ecological economics, sustainability, and the debate on the limits of economic growth.

Tim Jackson is a British ecological economist and professor of sustainable development at the University of Surrey. He is the director of the Centre for the Understanding of Sustainable Prosperity (CUSP), a multi-disciplinary, international research consortium which aims to understand the economic, social and political dimensions of sustainable prosperity. Tim Jackson is the author of Prosperity Without Growth and Material Concerns (1996). In 2016, he received the Hillary Laureate for exceptional mid-career Leadership. His most recent book The Care Economy was published in May 2025 by Polity Press.
