«Quemada viva» is Souad's autobiographical testimony, published by MR in 2005 in paperback (240 pages, in Spanish).
Souad recounts how, at seventeen, her brother-in-law doused her with gasoline and set her on fire for falling in love before marriage, a punishment considered an honor crime in her community. She survived, was helped by women from her village, and a European humanitarian worker helped her start a new life.
It belongs to the Divulgación collection. Biographies and Memoirs; the original work, Brûlée vive, was published in 2003.
For readers of memoirs, biographies and social denunciation of violence against women.
