«Ramsés II» is the historical essay by Bernadette Menu, published by Ediciones B in paperback (160 pages, in Spanish).
The book examines the figure of Ramesses II: his charisma, a reign of 65 years, the prosperity he brought to his people, and the great constructions he ordered to be built. It places him on a par with Thutmose III and Amenhotep III and explains how he became a legend of antiquity.
The work was originally published in French as «Ramsès II, souverain des souverains»; this edition appeared in 1998.
For readers interested in the history of ancient Egypt and the biographies of its great pharaohs.
