«Réquiem por un campesino español» is the short novel by Ramón J. Sender, published by Bibliotex in hardcover (90 pages, in Spanish).
During the Spanish Civil War, in a small Aragonese town, the priest Mosén Millán waits to offer a mass for the soul of a young man from the village whom he loved like a son. His memories reconstruct the failure of his mediation to save him and show how war and conscience intertwine in a divided village.
Volume 34 of the Biblioteca El Mundo collection: The 100 best novels in Spanish of the 20th century, with a prologue by Enrique Múgica. It was published in Mexico as Mosén Millán due to Francoist censorship.
Aimed at readers of historical fiction and students of 20th-century Spanish literature.
