«Rumbo a Marte» is a children's and young adult fantasy and science fiction book by Fernando Alonso, published by Anaya Infantil y Juvenil in hardcover.
A countdown to a space launch serves as a thread for several stories: vain butterflies, a mouse invasion, magical birds, a prince, dogs with fears, fish seeking their freedom, and a white elephant celebrating being different. The structure echoes that of El misterioso influjo de la barquillera, with a rocket as the trigger.
Illustrated by Emilio González Urberuaga. The Spanish edition has 128 pages. It belongs to the Libros Para Jóvenes - Leer Y Pensar collection.
Recommended for ages 10 and up for young readers who enjoy short stories.
