«Saint-Nicolas et le bûcheron» is the children's story by Kathrin Siegenthaler, published by Nord-Sud in hardcover (26 pages, in French).
A lonely woodcutter, mocked by the village children, discovers that Saint Nicholas has been losing the gifts of the night of December 6 in the snow because his sack has a hole. He catches up with the old man and offers to accompany him on the delivery, in a story about generosity and the Christmas spirit.
Originally published in 1987; the cover features Kathrin Siegenthaler and Marcus Pfister.
Recommended for young children and for reading aloud with the family during Christmas, especially in contexts where Saint Nicholas is celebrated.
