Solo l'amore resta. Nuovi Orizzonti nell'inferno della strada is a book written by Chiara Amirante. In Chiara's heart, affection for Jesus was born very early, to the point of wanting to receive, at only 5 years old, the first communion, to decide at 11 to donate her life to Christ. After finishing high school, she decides to enter a community of the "Focolari" Movement, simultaneously completing her studies in Political Science. These are years in which she feels the desire to dedicate herself to the last ones growing. She asks herself how to realize this vocation, when a very serious pathology affects her eyes and reduces her almost to blindness, forcing her to return to family life. It is in this period of suffering that Chiara intuits the design of God to whom she entrusts herself asking for a "sign". After a moment of intense prayer, the sudden and complete healing arrives. Chiara has no more doubts. Immediate is the choice to dedicate herself to the street children, to the "people of the night", in the most degraded places in Rome, in the hells of loneliness, of marginalization, of drug addiction... Thus was born "Nuovi Orizzonti" which - from the first residential community for about twenty children in Trigoria - is transformed in a short time into a true "factory of love", a colossus of solidarity and welcome with offices and activities all over the world. An irresistible enterprise, "a true miracle", says Chiara, which could not have been realized without the help of God, of hundreds of volunteers and of many friends.
