In 'Yo maté a Kennedy', Manuel Vázquez Montalbán introduces us to Pepe Carvalho, a Galician bodyguard, former member of the Communist Party and now a CIA agent. The novel, set in Barcelona, is presented as an adventure story, but in reality it is a reckoning with the topics of moral and political education of progressive Spain. A work that opened spaces for the freedom to read and write in Spain.
Manuel Vázquez Montalbán was a prolific Spanish writer from Barcelona: journalist, novelist, poet, essayist, anthologue, prologist, humorist, critic and political prisoner as well as a gastronome and an FC Barcelona supporter.
