In 'Yo maté a Kennedy', Manuel Vázquez Montalbán introduces us to Pepe Carvalho, an unforgettable literary character. This novel is the first in a detective, culinary, hedonistic, and traveling saga. Carvalho, a bodyguard of Galician origin, a former member of the Communist Party of Spain and now a CIA agent, faces the most resounding assassination of the 20th century: the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The work, presented as an adventure novel, is a settling of accounts with the topics of moral, political, and sentimental education in Spain.
Manuel Vázquez Montalbán was a prolific Spanish writer from Barcelona: journalist, novelist, poet, essayist, anthologue, prologist, humorist, critic and political prisoner as well as a gastronome and an FC Barcelona supporter.
