Yo soy I

Synopsis of Yo soy I

«Yo soy I» is the children's and young adult novel by Steve Tasane, published by Kalandraka in paperback (120 pages, in Spanish).

I is a refugee child with no documents or family; the guards at the refugee camp call him that. When he turns ten, he starts writing a diary about his life with five other unaccompanied minors: finding food, playing, friendship, remembering his loved ones and his places of origin, without losing hope of finding a home.

Translation by Alicia Frieyro and illustrations by Adrià Fruitós. It belongs to the Narrativa K collection and was published in Spanish in 2021.

For readers aged 10 to 11, it offers a close look at refugee childhood and the search for identity and belonging.
