Biography

British screenwriter

Jan Read was born in Sydney in 1917 and had a prolific career as a British screenwriter and film producer.

His writing career is marked by a deep interest in culture, gastronomy, and especially the world of wine.

He is the author of the well-known Mitchell Beazley pocket guide to Spanish wines.

Throughout his career, he published a total of nine works focusing primarily on viticulture in Spain and Portugal.

He passed away in 2012, leaving a legacy that bridges the gap between cinema and wine education.
