«Amors ridículs» is the short story collection by writer Milan Kundera, published by Destino CAT in paperback and in Catalan.
Eight stories that explore human relationships with irony and ease. Their characters, often hedonistic, pursue the games of love, friendship and sex in 1960s Czechoslovakia, an environment marked by severity and insularity where humor becomes a way of probing the human condition.
The original Czech title is «Směšné lásky» and this 1990 edition is part of the L'Ancora collection from Destino.
For readers of contemporary fiction and Czech literature who enjoy ironic stories about the contradictions of love and social life.
Milan Kundera was a Czech and French novelist. Kundera went into exile in France in 1975, acquiring citizenship in 1981. His Czechoslovak citizenship was revoked in 1979, but he was granted Czech citizenship in 2019.
