«Captain Pepper's Pets» is a children's pirate story by Sally Grindley, published by Kingfisher Books in paperback (48 pages, in English).
Captain Pepper doesn't want a parrot: he wants a pet that makes him different. He orders his pirate crew to find the perfect animal, but attempts with a hippo, a monkey and a leopard lead to ridiculous situations. When a python finally appears, the captain is fascinated, though the snake isn't as adorable as it seems.
«I Am Reading» series from Kingfisher for early readers. Illustrated by David Parkins. The cover states it includes a read-along CD.
Suitable for children from about 5 years old, especially those starting to read alone and wanting to move from picture books to early chapters.
