«Descenso a periferia» is Rafael Aliena's essay on social services, published by Nau Llibres in paperback (239 pages, in Spanish).
Drawing on months of fieldwork in the social services of a large city, Rafael Aliena reconstructs the «Periferia»: the branch of local administration that serves marginalized or excluded populations. The book combines interviews, observations and testimonies to reveal human suffering, everyday dilemmas, and the political and professional visions that run through this field of social action.
It is volume 4 of the Nau Llibres Social Work collection. First edition published in 2010.
A work of interest to students and professionals of social work, as well as to those concerned with social welfare and exclusion.
