«Don Camilo» is the humorous novel by Giovanni Guareschi, published by Planeta in hardcover (357 pages, in Spanish).
In an Italian village after the war, the parish priest Don Camilo and the communist mayor Peppone maintain a constant rivalry over their opposing ideas. Despite the conflicts, both share a love for their town and a deeply human core, which turns their clashes into comic and endearing scenes.
First installment of the «Don Camillo» series; the Italian original appeared in 1948 and this Spanish edition in 1973.
For readers seeking classic humor with lovable characters and a portrait of rural postwar Italy.
Giovannino Oliviero Giuseppe Guareschi was an Italian journalist, cartoonist and humorist whose best known creation is the priest Don Camillo.
