«Dynamic Manufacturing» is the management essay by Robert H. Hayes, Steven C. Wheelwright and Kim B. Clark (Macmillan USA, hardcover, 448 pages, in English).
The book argues that the crisis in American manufacturing is explained by managers' willingness to learn and change, not by competition or economic policies. It proposes focusing on the company's infrastructure (leadership, vision, policies and practices) to create world-class organizations with continuous learning.
The subtitle of the work is 'Creating the Learning Organization' and it was published on September 6, 1988.
Aimed at general managers and executives of manufacturing companies interested in management and improving competitiveness.
Steven Charles Wheelwright was the 9th president of Brigham Young University–Hawaii (BYU-Hawaii) from 2007 to 2015. Prior to that appointment, he was a professor and senior associate dean at Harvard Business School.
