«El hombrecillo de la lluvia» is the children's picture book by Gianni Rodari, published by Santillana Educación, S.L. in hardcover (32 pages, in Spanish).
The story presents a small character who lives in the clouds, jumps from one to another without breaking their soft surface, and opens and closes faucets to produce rain. Through his adventures, the book invites children to reflect on how essential water is for living beings and the importance of not wasting it.
Illustrated by Nicoletta Costa, it is part of Alfaguara's Infantil Verde collection and was published in 2007.
Recommended for children aged 4 and up, it encourages shared reading with an adult and conversation about the importance of water.
Giovanni Francesco "Gianni" Rodari was an Italian writer and journalist, most famous for his works of children's literature, notably Il romanzo di Cipollino.
