«El libro de los por qué» is the question-and-answer book by Gianni Rodari, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (141 pages, in Spanish).
It draws on children's curiosity to bring together everyday questions and their answers: the author plays with the whys, invites readers to look at the world with wonder, and suggests that each answer opens up new questions.
The original title is «Il libro dei perché»; translated from the Italian by Angelina Gatell with illustrations by Teresa Durán.
Recommended for child and young adult readers, especially those who enjoy everyday questions and curious answers.
Giovanni Francesco "Gianni" Rodari was an Italian writer and journalist, most famous for his works of children's literature, notably Il romanzo di Cipollino. For his lasting contribution as a children's author, he received the biennial Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1970. He is considered Italy's most important 20th-century children's author, and his books have been translated into many languages, though few have been published in English.
