«El planeta de los árboles de Navidad» is Gianni Rodari's children's fantasy novel, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (184 pages, in Spanish).
Marco receives a rocking horse for his birthday that, when he mounts it, launches him on a space journey to a planet where Christmas is permanent. There the sidewalks move, nothing costs money, and Christmas trees grow everywhere with their decorations. A fantastic and humorous adventure with Rodari's hallmark.
It belongs to the El Barco de Vapor Naranja collection, Rodari series, with illustrations by Fran Collado. It was originally published in Italian in 1962.
Aimed at children aged 8 to 10, with fantasy, humor and a playful look at Christmas.
Giovanni Francesco "Gianni" Rodari was an Italian writer and journalist, most famous for his works of children's literature, notably Il romanzo di Cipollino. For his lasting contribution as a children's author, he received the biennial Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1970. He is considered Italy's most important 20th-century children's author, and his books have been translated into many languages, though few have been published in English.
