«Helliconia l'été» is the science fiction novel by Brian W. Aldiss, published by Le Livre de Poche in paperback (509 pages, in French).
The action continues on Helliconia, a planet where seasons last centuries and summers are as long as winters. As the temperature rises, prophecies spread that the world will perish in fire, and King Jandol Anganol of Borlien becomes embroiled in intrigues threatening his throne.
Second installment of the Helliconia trilogy, sequel to Le Printemps d'Helliconia. The English original, Helliconia Summer, was published in 1983.
For science fiction readers who appreciate world-building sagas, in the vein of Dune by Frank Herbert.
Brian Wilson Aldiss was an English writer, artist and anthology editor, best known for science-fiction novels and short stories. His byline reads either Brian W. Aldiss or simply Brian Aldiss, except for occasional pseudonyms during the mid-1960s.
