«Il sonaglio» is the novel by Italian writer Andrea Camilleri, published by Sellerio Editore Palermo in paperback (195 pages, in Italian).
Young Giurlà, a goat herder on the high plateaus, finds in Beba, a solitary goat of jealous loyalty, a strange and fascinating companion. Between rural life and a world of fable, the narrative combines realism and metamorphosis with echoes of classical mythology, in a story of tenderness and desire.
It closes Camilleri's mythical trilogy, begun with «Maruzza Musumeci» and continued with «Il casellante».
For readers of Andrea Camilleri and of modern fables with echoes of classical mythology.
Andrea Calogero Camilleri was an Italian writer best known for his Salvo Montalbano crime novels.
