«La vida normal» is the short story collection by Màrius Serra, published by Proa in paperback (160 pages, in Catalan).
The volume brings together six stories and a final note in which a narrator sets out the doubts, hesitations and ways out he has discovered while writing his texts. Serra thus turns his experience as a writer into literary material, starting from the idea that literature is born from normal life even though it ends up becoming something else.
This title belongs to the A tot vent collection from Proa. It won the Barcelona City Prize for Catalan-language literature in 1999.
Aimed at readers of contemporary short fiction in Catalan and at those interested in literature that reflects on the craft of writing.
Màrius Serra i Roig is a Spanish writer, journalist, translator and television maker.
