«L'Histoire escamotée» is the historical essay by six authors (Erler, Müller, Rose, Schnabel, Ueberschär and Wette), published by La Découverte in paperback.
The book analyzes how attempts were made in Germany to conceal the memory of Nazism: silencing the past, minimizing its dimensions and manipulating the historical narrative. Six authors study these maneuvers and their effects on the country's historical consciousness and collective memory.
The edition is in French, has 175 pages and is part of the Cahiers libres collection; it includes a preface by André Gisselbrecht.
A work for readers of contemporary history and for those who follow debates on the memory of Nazism in Germany.
