«Merlín y familia» is the fantasy and Galician costumbrismo novel by Álvaro Cunqueiro, published by Destino in paperback (224 pages, in Spanish).
The novel places the magician Merlin in rural Galicia, where he lives with his family and with characters from Arthurian legend. Cunqueiro combines fantasy, humor and costumbrismo in a tale with a rich, evocative style, populated by conversations and small stories.
This edition, published in 2003, translates the original «Merlín e familia», published in 1955, and belongs to the Destinolibro collection (v. 164).
For readers interested in twentieth-century Spanish literature and in fantastic revisions of the Arthurian cycle.
