«The Long Tail» is the business and technology book by Chris Anderson, published by Hyperion in paperback (267 pages, in English).
Chris Anderson argues that commerce and culture do not depend only on big hits, but on the long tail of niche products once considered failures; the Internet and digital distribution turn them into a viable business: selling less of each, but of many more. This edition adds a chapter on Long Tail Marketing and an epilogue.
Originally published in 2006, this revised edition dates from 2008; it was recognized with the Gerald Loeb Award and was a finalist for the Financial Times Business Book of the Year.
For business, economics, and technology readers who want to understand how the Internet drives niche markets.

Chris Anderson is an English-American author and entrepreneur. He was with The Economist for seven years before joining Wired magazine in 2001, where he was the editor-in-chief until 2012. He is known for his 2004 article entitled "The Long Tail", which he later expanded into the 2006 book, The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business Is Selling Less of More. He is the cofounder and current CEO of 3D Robotics, a drone manufacturing company.
