«Tú decides: todo sobre la cirugía estética» is the popular science essay by Dr Antonio Tapia, published by Planeta in paperback (276 pages, in Spanish).
Dr Antonio Tapia explains what cosmetic and reconstructive surgery is and how it works, covering its risks and benefits. The book reminds us that disfiguring after-effects can have congenital, traumatic or pathological origins, and defends plastic surgery as a reconstructive option; ultimately, the decision to have surgery is personal.
The book, published in 2003, includes a prologue by José Luis de Vilallonga and black-and-white illustrations.
Recommended for those considering a cosmetic procedure or wanting to know its risks and benefits before deciding.
