«Xente de aquí e de acolá» is a book of portraits by Álvaro Cunqueiro, published by Galaxia in paperback (176 pages, in Galician).
The book brings together literary portraits of Galician characters with a life of their own, recreated with mastery. Through human types such as Somoza de Leiva, who had a dog that only barked at the opposite side, or Leiras de Parada, who lulled capons to sleep by reading them newspaper articles, it offers a vision of the people and a time in Galicia.
The book belongs to the «Narrativa» collection from Galaxia (no. 25) and is a reprint of the first edition of 1971.
For readers interested in Galician narrative and in costumbrista portraits.
