«Predictably Irrational» is the behavioral economics essay by Dan Ariely, published by Harper Collins USA in paperback (400 pages, in English).
Dan Ariely, a behavioral economist, argues that people do not make decisions as rationally as we believe. Through experiments and everyday situations such as shopping, saving or choosing a partner, he shows that our errors are systematic and predictable: we overpay, procrastinate and are swayed by emotions, expectations and social norms. The revised and expanded edition includes new studies and answers to readers' questions.
The full title is «Predictably Irrational, Revised: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions». It was published in 2010 as a revised and expanded edition. The first edition appeared in 2008.
For readers interested in behavioral economics, psychology, business and why we make seemingly illogical decisions.
